Program Coordinator – Skateboarding and Outdoor Adventures

The Program Coordinator serves as a key on-site leader responsible for overseeing and delivering Project Lifelong’s core programs, with a primary focus on Skate Nights, as well as Team Lifelong (our high school volunteer program) and seasonal camp experiences. This role centers on creating high impact, engaging opportunities for children and teens, rooted in positive youth development and anchored in skateboarding, board sports culture, and outdoor adventure.

Working across diverse environments – including offices, schools, recreation centers, and community spaces – the Program Coordinator also leads planning and facilitation of local day trips and overnight excursions that promote exploration, physical activity, teamwork, and a deeper connection to nature.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Coordinating program schedules and logistics
  • Providing leadership to program staff and volunteers by modeling effective mentorship and offering support and guidance to site staff and high school volunteers
  • Executing our flagship program, Skate Nights while working directly with youth participants
  • Supporting outreach and marketing efforts
  • Managing relationships with parent ambassadors and community partners
  • Contributing to the planning of special events like the Big Day of Giving
  • Addressing basic equipment and site maintenance needs to ensure safety

This is a dynamic, hands-on position ideal for someone who is energetic, organized, and passionate about youth development, skateboarding, outdoor experiences, and community impact.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 18+ years old
  • Able to consistently get to/from work location(s)
  • Must love skateboarding and have understanding of skateboarding culture/vibe
  • Knowledge and experience to effectively execute essential job functions
  • Prior experience working with youth in a lead setting
  • Experience with Microsoft office (Excel, Word) and Google Suite (Gmail, Google shared docs, etc.) 

Desired (but not required):

  • Class B driver’s license
  • Wilderness First Aid
  • Experience leading hikes, outbound trips
