Recreation Supervisor (Programming & Operations)
The City of South Lake Tahoe is excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Recreation Supervisor to lead operations at our brand-new, state-of-the-art Recreation and Aquatics Center. We're looking for a motivated and experienced leader to help shape this dynamic facility into a vibrant hub for community connection, health, and recreation.
As a key member of the Recreation Division, the Recreation Supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations of the facility, including supervision of cashiers, facility rentals, tournaments, and comprehensive facility programming. This position is responsible for recruiting, training, and managing a team of full- and part-time staff, while also planning, coordinating, and implementing a wide variety of recreational programs and services that serve the diverse needs of our residents and visitors.
In addition to operational oversight, the Recreation Supervisor plays a vital role in setting program goals, developing budgets, creating policies and procedures, and ensuring alignment with the City’s overall strategic priorities. This role requires strategic thinking, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to excellence in public service.

Education and Experience Guidelines - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education/Training:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation, leisure studies, physical education, public administration, business administration, or related field.
Experience:
Three years of increasingly responsible recreation program administration experience including some administrative and/or lead supervisory experience.
License or Certificate:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a California or Nevada driver's license.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, certificates in the following areas: Title 22 first aid for public safety, CPR, lifeguard training, and Water Safety Instructor.
