Activity Program Provider

  • Coordinate, plan and provide comprehensive and specialized programs, events, and trips to meet the needs, interests, abilities and concerns of a diverse population of residents; explore and introduce innovative and creative program ideas, opportunities and resources.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with staff social workers to implement resident care and activity programs.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with community organizations and providers.
  • Produce and create program materials such as flyers, catalogs, message boards, web postings or other marketing and communication materials.
  • Assess current needs and interests of target populations through formal / informal surveys and/or focus groups, compile data, develop reports and summarize findings.
  • Maintain accurate program, participant and department documentation and records. Provide timely and accurate reporting and data entry regarding event planning resources, participant interest, and other notable information, such as injuries or behavioral incidents.
  • Work in conjunction and in coordination with property managers and staff to maintain communication regarding programs, activities and events.
  • Work with staff to implement the Recreation Therapy Internship and Residents Volunteer Program; assist with recruiting, screening, supervising and training interns and volunteers as assigned.
  • Assist, plan, implement and/or coordinate RSAP trips for designated groups, and drive residents in company vehicle for trips.
  • Provide support or back-up coverage to RSAP programs / activities when needed; assist with managing inventory and program supplies as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

 

  • Degree in Recreation Therapy with valid California and National Certifications (RTC & CTRS) - or other Human Services related degree - with minimum 3 years of experience, or 5 years of relevant experience without desired degree.
  • Professional experience implementing therapeutic recreation programs with diverse population - e.g., adults, adults with disabilities and senior populations, knowledge of conditions such as cognitive, mental and physical health disabilities, dementia, frail, supportive housing concepts, drug / alcohol abuse issues, and/or homelessness.
  • Ability to plan, develop and implement social enrichment, health and wellness programs, procedure and systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and volunteers. Ability to assist in supervision and training of staff, interns and/or volunteers
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual community.
  • Bilingual preferred, but not required for senior buildings (Cantonese / English or Russian / English).
  • Ability to work both independently and part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Proficient in data gathering, collection, analytics, and reporting with basic statistical analysis.
  • Ability to maintain accurate statistical records and documentation of services as required by the City of San Francisco HSH, TODCO or other funding sources
  • Professional efficiency level of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Outlook, Client charting and relationship management software, other publishing software and other enterprise software.
  • Knowledge and ability to work with San Francisco and Bay Area resources, special skills and interests applicable to program.
  • Flexibility to work when needed, including occasional evenings, weekends, or early mornings.
  • Must have a valid CA driver’s license and a good driving record; ability to drive the company van with 8-passengers.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Must be fully vaccinated and follow current CDC recommendations for COVID-19.
