The Community Services Department - Arts & Cultural Events Division is hiring Art Handlers for the upcoming Beverly Hills Art Show, in addition to other annual events. The position will be responsible for safely handling and transporting various sizes and types of artwork for the Beverly Hills Art Show. The position will need to work with and communicate effectively with other art show team members, including other art handlers, and participating artists. Art Handlers are responsible for promptly communicating, via email, in order to coordinate scheduling or to address any Art Show-related issues with supervisor or other special event staff. The Beverly Hills Art Show takes place twice per year, during the third weekend of May and the third weekend of October. Art Handlers should be available to work during Friday, Saturday and Sunday of this weekend, or occasionally, on other date of Art Show preparations.
Experience and Training Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
- One year of responsible experience in preparing, transporting, and installing two-dimensional and three-dimensional artwork in a gallery, museum, or similar environment where art is prepared, packed, stored, and/or exhibited.
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college course work in Museum Studies, Art History, Fine Arts, Studio Arts, or a related field.
- License and Certificate Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver’s license as required by the position.
