Recreation Program Coordinator
Overview
Successful Aging Solutions & Community Consulting (SASCC) is seeking an energetic professional to help us deliver much-needed support for our community. As Santa Clara County's premier senior services provider, we strive to create the best possible experience for our staff, members, guests, and clients. This role is central to our success in service delivery at the point of contact for the community.
SASCC's core services consist of operating the Saratoga Senior Center, the Saratoga Adult Care Center, the RYDE Senior Transportation Program, and publishing The Outlook Community Newspaper. We also provide consulting services and innovative solutions to local governments and community institutions focused on building infrastructure for an aging population.
For the Recreation Program Coordinator position, the Saratoga Senior Center lies at the heart of our direct services to the community. Through the Senior Center we provide our members with opportunities for social and community engagement, educational opportunities, activity and exercise programs, learning opportunities, supportive services and resources, volunteer opportunities, and more!
The Role
As a Recreation Program Coordinator, you will be the welcoming and knowledgeable face of the Saratoga Senior Center. Your role will include greeting members, shaping their membership experience, helping them navigate our programs, services, and resources, supporting the daily flow of center operations, and relaying information and metrics to the Operations Manager.
We are seeking reliable, energetic, and service-minded individuals to support member service operations. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a customer-first attitude, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves to help make things run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
Front Desk: Welcome and assist members at the front desk with membership enrollment and renewal, ensure member check in for daily activities to support accurate attendance tracking, complete daily and weekly cash count and logs, and respond to inquiries via phone, email, or in person - guiding members to programs, services, and resources based on their needs.
Scheduling: Coordinate the Senior Center schedules for activities, classes, and programs, including our external services such as Red Cross blood donation events, tax aid appointments, and Senior Legal Assistance. Provide support with the creation and management of senior center event sign-up forms, and complete incident reports as needed. Coordinate with the SASCC Special Events Manager to maintain and update the Senior Center Master Calendar.
Program Support: Assist with setup and breakdown of materials for activities, classes, and events. Maintain an organized, stocked, and welcoming lobby, cafe and front desk area. Participate in and support both special and weekend events as needed.
Data Collection: Collect, compile, and manage senior center data, generating monthly, quarterly, and annual activity and membership reports, as well as class and event participation metrics to be relayed to the Operations Manager. Complete incident reports and relay member complaints, needs, or suggestions to the Operations Manager as needed.
Senior Guided Pathways: Complete the enrollment of all current and future Senior Center members in the CCCApply system with proper permissions. Provide resource connection and support to community members with questions regarding the Senior Guided Pathways program.
Schedule & Pay
- Part-time schedule: 16 - 20 hours per week
- Full-time: 36 - 40 hours per week
- Hourly wage: $22 - $25/hr
- Paid: Biweekly

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Requirements
- Friendly, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs and assist with event or class setup
- Comfortable working with older adults and diverse community members
- Reliable, punctual, and organized with attention to detail
- Basic proficiency with computers, including email, spreadsheets, and scheduling software, with willingness to undergo training on data management tools
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply

Preferred Experience
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, or similar roles preferred
