Recreation Services Manager

Knowledge & Education
- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in recreation, business or public administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge of administrative principles and practices, including goal setting, program development, implementation, and evaluation, and project management.
Skills & Abilities
- Plan, develop, organize, oversee, and manage a comprehensive and dynamic community recreation program.
- Think creatively, be flexible, and have a willingness to solve problems in new and different ways.
- Develop and implement goals, objectives, practices, policies, procedures, operation plans, and workplans.
- Build recreation programs from the ground up and evaluate existing programs for improvements or cancellation; find a good balance between programmed experiences drop-in use opportunities.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of innovative recreational programs, including, but not limited to, sports, fitness, aquatics, arts, adaptive, seniors, and special events, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the community.
- Plan, manage, and oversee the daily operations of the Recreation Division.
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the division; recommend appropriate service and staffing levels; recommend and administers policies and procedures.
Experience & Licenses - Six (6) years of increasingly responsible recreation programming experience including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- Possession of, or successful acquisition within 12 months of employment, a valid CPR, AED, and first aid certification issued by the American Red Cross, to be maintained throughout employment.
