Recreation Supervisor - Sports
The Folsom Parks & Recreation Department is currently recruiting for a collaborator, strategic and resourceful (1) Recreation Supervisor. We are seeking a responsible recreation supervisor who can deliver vital community services, assess service delivery, and collaborate with various community youth sports organizations. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of recreation program development, sport facility uses and scheduling, and written skills for successful development and implementation of agreements. The successful candidate will have experience with staff development, strong communication skills, be able to present ideas effectively, respond adeptly to feedback, and foster a positive organization culture. This individual will lead the program development and delivery of various sports programs and sport facility use along with effective communication with outside organizations and individuals that help make lives better. Under the direction of the Recreation & Community Services Manager, the Recreation Supervisor will plan, organize, direct, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate various program functions and special events of the Recreation and Community Services Division. The Divisions are comprised of Aquatics, Community & Cultural Services, and Sports which plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate vital programs and services to the community while managing various recreation facilities and amenities for community livability.
Plan, direct, and supervise the assigned area of the Recreation & Community Service Division. Assign work, make hiring decisions, supervise, train, discipline, and evaluate performance of subordinate staff. Conduct research and analyze information pertinent to the development of programs and services. Evaluate the effectiveness of programs including competing programs, duplications of programs, and completion of programs. Develop, implement, and oversee program budgets. Recommend policies and procedures. Work with community groups and residents to develop and coordinate programs and facility use through delivery of rental agreements and MOU’s. Prepare and maintain master calendars for multiple facilities for sport and activity use. Coordinate the planning of promotional materials. Promote and enhance existing programs through department and city methods with staff assistance. Prepare written reports including department reports, commission reports, city council reports, and other reports as needed. Perform related duties as assigned.
Education: A bachelor's degree in recreation, leisure management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One (1) year of full-time experience as a Senior Recreation Coordinator with the City of Folsom.
OR
Three (3) years of full-time increasingly responsible experience in recreation program leadership including one (1) year of leadwork experience.
