Membership & Expo Services Coordinator
Position Overview
The Membership & Expo Services Coordinator for the California Parks and Recreation Society (CPRS) provides essential administrative and support services for the organization’s membership initiatives and the annual Expo. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service to members, addressing membership inquiries, updating, and maintaining the membership database, and assisting with the logistical coordination of Expo-related activities. The coordinator ensures efficient day-to-day support for both membership and Expo functions.
Key Responsibilities Membership Support
• Serve as the primary point of contact for member inquiries, providing excellent customer service via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
• Assist members with renewals, registration, and other membership-related activities.
• Support membership onboarding and orientation efforts for new members.
• Respond to questions about membership benefits, programs, and services.
• Communicates with all other departments to coordinate prompt resolution of member inquiries.
Membership Growth & Retention:
• Assist with strategies and campaigns aimed at recruiting new members and retaining current members.
• Monitor membership trends and report on membership statistics, including growth and retention rates.
Expo Services Support
• Assist vendors with the purchase of booth space (purchase, invoicing, payment, receipts, etc.).
• Ensure a seamless experience for exhibitors and attendees, addressing inquiries via phone and email and resolving issues leading up to and during the Expo.
Data Management:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date membership and expo exhibitor records in the appropriate databases.
• Process new member applications, renewals, and membership dues.
• Generate membership and Expo-related reports as required, providing insights on trends, feedback, and areas for improvement.
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) with at least three years related work experience in membership or admin with preference given to those with association and/or nonprofit experience.
• Excellent customer service skills and attitude
• Outstanding verbal/written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with iMIS EMS and/or other AMS related systems and Cadmium is a plus!
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and priorities effectively and professionally.
• Some moderate lifting (up to 25 pounds) may be required on an occasional basis.
• Position requires some travel via personal vehicle or other modes of public transportation.
